Specialized Rehabilitation Center
In the year 2013, the Health’s Ministry as a Specialized Center authorized the Irma Dulce Social Work Rehabilitation Clinic for Rehabilitation - CER IV, with activities in the areas of auditory, physical, intellectual and visual. With this change, the well-known outpatient clinic of the Center for Rehabilitation and Disability Prevention (CRPD) was renamed Specialized Center for Rehabilitation - CER IV Irma Dulce.
The qualification in CER IV allowed the unit to increase the monthly attendance capacity for 700 people with disabilities, in all age groups. Nowadays has a multi professional technical team composed of physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, pedagogues and physical educators. Rehabilitation / habilitation actions are executed based on the needs of each person served, privileging aspects related to development, social inclusion, performance in activities and their participation in the family, community and society.
One of the highlights of CER IV is the Orozimbo Alves Costa Filho hearing rehabilitation unit, one of the most complete and modern centers in the North and Northeast of the country, which in 2013 was integrated with the Specialized Center for Rehabilitation. It offers the population services of high complexity, such as the Cochlear Implant (IC) - a procedure known as "bionic ear" surgery - and the adaptation of Individual Sound Amplification Apparatus (AASI), free of charge through the Unified Health System (SUS).
