West Hospital
In June 2006, Irmã Dulce Social Works (OSID) expanded its work philosophy to the interior of Bahia by taking over the administration of the West Hospital (Hospital do Oeste), built by the state government in the municipality of Barreiras, and located 870 km far away from Salvador.
Designed to meet the demand of around 900 thousand inhabitants of the region, the HO has an Emergency unit working 24 hours; 285 hospitalization beds distributed in Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ICU); Medical clinic; Surgical Clinic; Pediatric Clinic; Obstetrics Clinic and Burn Unit.
In addition to laboratory and image exams, the unit brings together 20 specialties, including General Surgery and Plastic Surgery; Pediatric surgery; Neurosurgery; Adult and Pediatric Neurology; Nephrology; Ophthalmology Urology; Otorhinolaryngology; Bucomaxillofacial, among others.
